Experience the best of southern Morocco on a private 3-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, crossing the High Atlas Mountains, exploring ancient kasbahs, and spending a magical night in the Sahara Desert. This private journey offers comfort, flexibility, and authentic Moroccan experiences.
Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley
We begin our adventure early in the morning as we leave Marrakech behind and slowly climb into the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. As the road winds higher, you’ll notice how the scenery changes, from busy city life to peaceful mountain villages where time seems to move more slowly.
Crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, we will stop several times so you can stretch your legs, enjoy Moroccan coffee, and take photos of breathtaking panoramic views. This is a perfect moment to feel the real Morocco.
Our next highlight is the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you walk through its ancient clay walls, imagine caravans passing through centuries ago, carrying gold, salt, and spices across the Sahara. Many famous movies were filmed here, and you’ll understand why the moment you arrive.
After lunch, we continue toward Ouarzazate, often called the Gateway to the Desert. From here, the landscape becomes more dramatic as we drive through the Valley of Roses, arriving in the beautiful Dades Valley.
In the evening, relax at your hotel, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner, and listen to the silence of the mountains.

Day 2: Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Erfoud → Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, we continue our journey deeper into southern Morocco. Soon, towering rock walls appear before us, welcome to Todra Gorge. Take your time to walk between the cliffs, feel the fresh air, and admire nature’s power and beauty. As we drive on, the landscape slowly changes again. You will notice palm trees, desert towns, and wide open spaces. In Erfoud, known for fossils and dates, we take a short stop before heading toward the Sahara. And then… the moment everyone waits for : Merzouga and the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Here, the silence of the desert speaks louder than words. In the late afternoon, you will ride camels across the dunes, following ancient nomad paths. As the sun sets, the sand turns from gold to orange to deep red, an amazing memory. At the desert camp, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner, Berber music around the fire, and a sky full of stars like you’ve never seen before.

Day 3: Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Ifrane → Fes
Early risers will be rewarded with a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we leave the desert behind and begin our journey north. Driving through the Ziz Valley, you’ll see one of the largest palm groves in Morocco, an oasis of life in the middle of arid landscapes. We stop for photos and to fully appreciate this contrast.
After lunch in Midelt, we enter the Middle Atlas Mountains. Soon, cedar forests appear, and with a bit of luck, you may see Barbary monkeys along the road. Our final stop before Fes is Ifrane, a charming town with European-style architecture, often called the Switzerland of Morocco. A surprising and refreshing end to your desert adventure. We arrive in Fes in the late afternoon or evening, where our Private 3-Day Tour from Marrakech to Fes .
