In this excursion we will leave the vibrant city of Marrakech behind and head south toward the majestic High Atlas Mountains. As we drive along winding mountain roads, the scenery will change before your eyes — from busy city life to peaceful valleys, traditional Berber villages, and hills covered with argan and olive trees.

We will climb all the way to the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass, the highest mountain pass in North Africa at over 2,200 meters above sea level. Here, we’ll make a stop to stretch our legs, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and take beautiful panoramic photos of the surrounding peaks and valleys.

After this scenic break, we’ll continue toward one of Morocco’s greatest treasures: Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Once we arrive, we’ll explore the narrow alleys of this ancient fortified village, admire the earthen clay architecture, and climb to the top for stunning views of the valley below. I’ll also share with you the fascinating history of this place, which has served as the backdrop for famous movies and TV series such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and The Mummy.

From here, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, also known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Our visit includes the famous Atlas Film Studios, where you’ll see massive film sets and props used in blockbuster movies. Feel free to take some great photos and enjoy the behind-the-scenes atmosphere of the film industry.

We’ll also visit the impressive Kasbah of Taourirt, one of the most beautiful and historically important kasbahs in the region. As we walk through its maze-like corridors and traditional rooms, you’ll get a sense of how life was for the powerful families who once lived here.

Later in the day, we’ll make our way back to Marrakech through the same mountain road, with a chance to enjoy the stunning colors of the sunset over the Atlas peaks or extend your trip to explore more of the Sahara or other regions.
