Day 1 – From Fes to the Sahara: A Journey Through Morocco’s Changing Landscapes

We’ll leave Fes early in the morning , not just to get a head start, but because this journey(Fes to Merzouga Sand Adventure) is a full experience, not just a transfer. As we drive out of the city, you’ll feel the rhythm of Morocco start to shift.

Our first stop is Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco. It’s quiet, clean, and full of pine trees and chalets , not what most expect from Morocco. We’ll take a short break, grab a coffee, and stretch our legs before continuing deeper into the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Next comes Azrou, where we might spot a few wild monkeys in the cedar forests , a surprising and fun moment in the middle of the mountains.

By midday, we’ll reach Midelt, a small town known for its apples and cool air. This is where we’ll have lunch in a local restaurant , something warm and homemade, usually a good tagine or couscous, depending on the day.

As we continue driving, the scenery starts to change. The mountains flatten out, and slowly the earth turns from green to red, then to golden brown. You’ll feel it , the approach to the desert.

By late afternoon, we arrive at the edge of the Sahara: Merzouga.

But we don’t stop here for long. Your bags will stay with our driver, and you’ll climb onto a camel to ride through the soft, orange dunes of Erg Chebbi. It’s a gentle ride, peaceful and quiet, just the sound of hooves in the sand. You’ll reach the desert camp just in time to climb a dune and catch the sunset , it’s something you’ll carry with you forever.

At night, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars. The air is fresh, the sky is full of stars, and the local music around the campfire adds just the right touch of magic. No Wi-Fi here , only connection with the land, and maybe yourself.

You’ll sleep in a private tent, with clean beds and warm blankets. The silence of the Sahara will be your lullaby.

Day 2 – Sunrise Over the Dunes & The Road Back to Fes

You’ll wake up before the sun (trust us , it’s worth it). Sunrise in the desert is a slow, golden glow that touches everything: the sand, the camels, even your face.

After a simple breakfast, we start the journey back to Fes , but it’s not a boring drive. The light is different, the towns seem more familiar, and you’ll see the road with new eyes.

We’ll stop along the way , maybe to buy dates in Erfoud, or just for tea in a roadside café. We take our time. This isn’t a race. It’s your journey.
